Did you know?

  • Did you know Vietnam has a coffee with egg in it? Egg coffee is made with whipped egg yolk, sugar, and condensed milk. It sounds suspicious… but tastes like tiramisu decided to become a beverage.

  • Did you know crossing the street in Vietnam is basically a trust exercise? In cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, motorbikes flow around pedestrians like water. The secret is usually to walk steadily and resist the urge to panic-run.

  • Water puppetry is about 1,000 years old. The tradition began in villages of northern Vietnam, where flooded rice fields were literally used as stages. Today, puppeteers still stand behind screens in water and control wooden puppets using hidden rods and strings.
